7th Street Shops Is Back
The models shown below will reflect the strong Narrow Gauge influence that helped launch 7th Street Shops. Initially our clientbase came from those circles. Our first website was published in 2010 and greatly expanded our market to the broader mainstream base of the hobby. Today we see very little narrow gauge; part of which is probably because we do not accept HO narrow gauge (for we have our good reasons). We think it is interesting to look back and see where we came from.

In the late spring of 2010, 7th Street Shops celebrated its first year in operation. During that year, a partnership began to emerge with NorthWest Short Line. It soon became clear the nearly 1000 miles between the two companies was a hindrance to our efforts.
After a visit at the end of March 2010 we decided that a move to Montana would be beneficial to both companies. We would not give up our own operation; we would simply incorporate NWSL's business into our schedule. At the end of August, 2010 we made the move and established our long standing relationship with NWSL
A bonus to this move was that we were also only15 minutes from Precision Scale Model's location.

PFM imported several runs of Sierra 38. They ran well but the typical early run model was a bit noisy. Their power train used brass spur gears. Replacing this drive system is a big job. Replacing the gears in the tower with Delrin gears can help reduce some of the noise.
